CHRISTIANE SPANGSBERG
Outcasts
"No one has cast me out and yet I feel like an outcast.
Perhaps society makes it impossible for us to fit in and by not fitting in we are left outside. But I would rather stay outside forever than giving up on myself to fit in".
Spangsberg challenges the one line technique in her fourth international solo exhibition, where every line is created blind. This technique, she says, gives her the opportunity to explore the unknown in a complete loss of ego. Drawing blind takes away the fears of failure and the insecurities of perfection. There is no other way than to let what is inside flow on the paper.
Introducing bold and brighter colours such as turquoise and pink, Spangsberg also introduces a new refreshing show.
Until Sunday 17 June
Open from 10 am to 7 pm
